Bamba Wassoulou Groove delivers an electrifying live experience, where spiraling Malian guitar rhythms and soulful vocals create an irresistible, trance-like atmosphere. Their music pulses with the raw energy of Bamako’s streets, blending psychedelic blues, funk, and traditional Bambara sounds into a sound that’s both timeless and fiercely alive. Come be swept into a joyful, high-energy celebration, dancing to hypnotic grooves that echo Mali’s deep musical roots. Every show is a powerful, communal journey—part revival, part revelation—that leaves audiences exhilarated and deeply moved.

July Exhibition at ART ON FIRST: Inner Landscape Paintings - Martina Goldberg
Monday, June 30 - Monday, July 28, 11:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Opening Reception: Friday, July 4, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Currently featured at ART on FIRST are inner landscape paintings by Martina Goldberg. Working mainly with acrylics, Martina captures visual aspects of landscapes in Mexico combined with a Northern European spirit, taking her expression beyond the limits of her viewers’ eyes. Using just a few visual elements and a limited palette, Martina’s paintings are often dramatically contrasted but also subtly blended, which is her way of interpreting the essence and mood of her compositions, always aiming to evoke in her viewers an inner landscape. She wants her viewers to feel the landscapes, not just see them.

Teens, it’s time to put your snack skills to the test. Join us at the North Bend Public Library on Tuesday, July 8 at 4:00 PM for a flavor face-off you won’t forget. Can you identify your favorite snack by the flavor alone? Think you’re a chip connoisseur or a cookie expert? There’s only one way to find out. Bragging rights (and snacks) are on the line! No registration is required. This program is open to teens ages 13-18.
We noticed that a lot of places in Ashland do something cool for First Friday. So, sure, we'll be followers this time.
We're calling it First Friday Flights! Or maybe we're calling it the Empanada Throwdown!
Either way, it's a music, food, and wine event that you should definitely join! Here's the deal:
Freshly made local empanadas from Caba EmpanadasLovely fall wines from Resistance Wine Co (that's us!)
You could pretty much hang out all day if you want. But if you just want to pop in for a few empanadas/pours, you could have plenty of time left to visit all the other galleries.
Also, we have some art so you don't just have to look at that weird friend you invited... But, still, bring your friends.
$20.00 Wine tastings + whatever an empanada cost in 2025.
Take time to nurture your creativity. In this four-session series, we will explore ways to use writing for self-expression, create short pieces of writing based on weekly themes, and incorporate other types of artistic practices into our writing.
No writing experience is necessary - just an interest in being creative in a fun, supportive environment!
